Wood Grinder

Have you ever felt like your physical, mental and emotional being has been thrown into a wood grinder and blown out into a fast rapid river?

The pieces are getting wet, hitting rocks, getting sucked down by strong under currents, while the other pieces are at the mercy of the rapids? Not knowing if the end of the rapids is a waterfall or a calm pool?

I have been in this place, feeling like my spirit is soaring like an eagle over the rapid waters, watching and following my weak human broken life struggle at the mercy of the waters. During these times in life, the Spirit of God reminds me that He is Mighty, and always finds the broken pieces. He puts it all back together again.

Thankfully, He never puts me back together the same. There’s always a scar in the restoration, but it is beautifully recreated, with reminders: Don’t lose a piece or give a piece of yourself to the things of this world, because double-mindedness leads to a woodcutter and a rapid river. Forgive those who have taken what was not theirs, because the root of bitterness only grows hate. Finally, love and trust in the Lord your God, He’s everything you need.
