Distorted, Dull, Ordinary

Not far from ordinary.

Defined as unusual,

Or should whom be the inquiry

Of the mediocre?

Self designated judges?

By whose definition?

To be marked as quite obscure?

Unfair and unabridged

Manipulation of power!

Raised up high by whom?

Only foolish self- glory,

Apparently frivolous

In understanding value.

Excellence is inward,

Virtue radiates from within.

Worth is to be merited,

Not debased by apathy,

Or diminished by hate!

Categories created.

By whose standards, or

Authority for judgment?

Distortion of image

In a reflected mirror

Convex and deformed,

Bulging an outward disgust,

Is Obviously unseen,

Because that’s not God perceived.

Who then, defines who?

“You’ll know a tree by its fruit,”

The good we can see,

The bad only ill effect.

Discern, do not judge.

It’s as simple as that.

The ordinary may seem dull

Compared to what’s perceived,

With eyes that only desire to

judge falsely and to be seen.

Turning hearts toward empathy,

And doing unto others,

Reflects true beauty within.

Call me ordinary

Call me mundane

I am proud to stand in the crowd

With the plain.

What others don’t see

Are the crowns on our heads,

Beauty from ashes, and

White robes which were red.
